Additional information

Hans Carel Wesseling always had a keen interest in Eastern Europe. In the beginning of his diplomatic career he chose postings in Moscow, KIEV an Tbilisi. After that, he was posted in London, The Hague and Brussels, before returning to his beloved region in the position as Consul-General in St. Petersburg.
He speaks fluently Russian which helps him to achieve his main goal: fostering the cooperation between Russian and Dutch people. Mr. Wesseling likes to work with young, innovative organizations in the field of culture and civil society. He feels very much at home in St. Petersburg, the city where his grandfather worked 80 years ago with the famous Russian physiologist Professor Ivan Pavlov.
