Dutch ports jointly at TransRussia exhibition
Three Dutch ports jointly presented themselves at the TransRussia exhibition, the largest event in Russia, the Baltic region and the former Soviet republics for logistics, cargo, transport and international trade.
The Dutch ports are Port of Amsterdam, Port of Rotterdam and Zeeland Seaports, powered by ABN AMRO Bank.
By participating in the TransRussia exhibition the Dutch ports recognize the growing Russian economy, the importance of the region and the thus increasing need for international transport and logistics concepts. All three Dutch ports and the accompanying companies offer knowledge and business opportunities in the fields of transport, logistics, infrastructure, port development and business services.
Over the last years the Russian export has grown firmly. The most important export products are oil and gas. For export the Netherlands is the principal destination. Russia imports machinery, electronics and transport vehicles. For Russia the European Union is the most important trade partner.
In 2011 Russian imports from the Netherlands had a commercial value of about 6.4 billion euro. The value of Russian exports in 2011 was about 17 billion euro.
